The game has been changed.

I watch many videos of that new "digital guitar" and seriously I only saw talentless people who don't know what they do.

If this is the future in music ... well I might as well quit now... I can't belive we went from incredible talented classical composer and then every year we dumb down the music and we are at the point where it is that ??? man ...

It's a fun synth, but it can't replace a real string instrument. With real strings you have the sensitivity of touch and different places of tension. For instance, if I want to make a particular note warm and soft, I play with the pads of my finger up at the neck. If I want something clanky and powerful, I dig in with my nails at the mid point between the neck and bridge. You can be dynamic with the real thing. With a touch pad, you can't really do that.

The Kitara looks like a lot of fun. For you guys thrown off by the brat in the hoodie, here's a sample with a bit more musicianship. You fret actual notes on the fretboard while controlling tone/effects with the touchpad. There's lots of possibility for expressiveness there.

Oh, I see what it is now. I guess it's kind of cool if you want a synth sound but only know how to play a fingerboard.

Unfortunately it looks like a cheap toy, like a Guitar Hero controller. and did you guys see what these things go for?!!!! Link Removed No thanks, if I'm blowing that kind of money on a toy it better float and have a few hundred horsepower.

Just buy a good keyboard and learn how to play piano. Cheaper in the short run and better for your musical development in the long run.

reminds me of this, only it actually has strings.
