I play in Nephilym out of NC we live in Raliegh, Fayetteville and Tarheel, NC And mostly play Fayetteville. Writing our 4th album and not gigging at the moment but I got some venues for you guys to checkout. The rock shop music hall. Biggest club here. Located near downtown fayetteville. About 2 times the size of the house of blues, 2 huge stages, one at each end of the club. Back stage area. Hosts big nationals like deftones vanilla ice lol and so on. Mostly original bands but they have nights with tribute bands even open mic night on the smaller stage. No cover bands. occasionally one sneaks on a bill but its rare. One downside is the place is so huge you can draw hundreds of people and it still looks empty. Club owner Shawn is a musician and great to work with. The drunk horse pub. Fun new club. Closest to fort bragg. Its the middle as far as size. Stage is great for 3 and 4 piece bands but a little tight for 5. This is mostly original bands Ive yet to see or hear about a cover/tribute band playing there. Club owner (Pauly) is also a musician and great to deal with. The Black Cat. This is the smaller venue. Small stage. Great for singer songwriter and small bands or acoustic gigs. They except all kinds of acts. "Its" entertainment city. This is the place to play for cover bands. They have an indoor stage they use mainly for bigger shows like Halloween and New Years but the patio has cover bands every week. The doghouse. For cover bands. Decent size outdoor stage behind the club. They also have small bands inside. But normally inside its acoustic or 3piece bands. They don't seem to have live bands on a regular basis. 4th Friday downtown fayetteville . Every 4th Friday downtown streets are open to anyone who wants to jam. This is a bring the tip jar type of gig. Great for exposing yourself to new people Now the big gigs. The crown coliseum. This is pretty much reserved for huge touring acts. Although we did get to play there as pre game and post game entertainment at a semi pro basketball game. Festival Park. Great outdoor stage with nice indoor dressing rooms for each act. Tough to get on gigs though. Most of the festivals have the same so so bands that are buddies with the organizers. We played the dogwood festival on this stage as rock 103.5s guest. Fort Bragg forth of July festival. Biggest gig Ive ever done. Opened for Tonic and Lifehouse a few years ago which was odd because we are a bit heavier. were talking attendance in the tens of thousands . This one is more for big national acts but occasional radio stations will sponsor local bands.
