Dang. I saw that somewhere when I was looking into the Cabzone LE, but then couldn't find it. I don't know why. That looks really great, though. Might be worth the upgrade. The new CabZone X have DI out (XLR). I think it looks fantastic and just ordered one. I really like the power amp sim that you can load into the LE but on the X you can choose from 10 different power amp sims and have access to all 10 cabs as well.
A+ CabZone X
Does anybody know how do power amp sims work, technically ?
Hi guys,
I'm looking for a Bass pre-amp pedal, preferably with headphone out & D.I. out (maybe even with a cab sim on board too).
I'd like a small footprint if possible too.
(Currently using a VT bass with a Phil Jones Bass Big Head for silent practice)
I know the Shift Line Olympic does all of this, but are there any others that can cover this much ground in a small footprint?
Ashdown OriginAL. I will make a proper review of it.
Thanks, I'll give them a good lookLook at the NUX Melvin Lee Davis or Atomic Bass Box.

I loved the clover! It's a great preamp.Well... it's more basic .... preamp/EQ/DI .... but sounds great and is small ... The JHS Clover is super cool.

Stupid question time.....But what is a "power amp sim"? I get a cab sim because it's static (for lack if a better word). But amps have so many variables like input gain and eq. How can a snapshot of an amp be effective?
Asking not to be a jerk but because I'm ignorant.![]()
My guess is that it models compression and distortion characteristics of tube power sections. I'm no expert, but I assume a 6L6 or 6550 or KT-88 power tube behaves different than a 12AX7 pre tube when pushed.
The CAB m+ also has a preamp sim, to model a preamp tube, and a 5 band semi parametric EQ, so it theoretically could be a stand alone rig simulator.Ah!! "Power amp" as opposed to "full featured amp". I get it. Thanks!
Carry on.
