This preamp's a work in progress. I am planning on getting a legitimate front panel engraved next week. I'll post a pic when it gets here. This one is more Ampeg-like as compared to the Fender-ish one I've been gigging with for the last few years.

here's my restored and 'converted for bass" 1970 Ampeg V4 cab. i installed four 12" Eminence neo deltalite 2512's in it (i also installed some JBL dust caps to slightly brighten the speaker's high end) and it sounds awesome. i used at a gig last friday with my SVT-VR head and i couldn't be happier with it. weight for the cab is 74 lbs.

A couple people have already remarked in PM to me in the course of general fEarful conversation how good they think your individual build looks. I think you should do another photo though, with a bass beside it to give even more sense of scale.

I can't offer much in the way of DIY input, but I can come close. I have a Traynor YBA-1 that my friend who builds his own line of guitar amps modified for me. He converted it to 6550 output tubes from EL34 tubes and changed the voicing of the EQ section to suit my very specific requests. But on the outside it just looks like every other YBA-1. Plug it in and it drops jaws. Not a loud amp, but very cool nonetheless.
All these speaker cabs have me thinking about another project I had started many years ago. I bought a sheet of marine grade 5/8" plywood in order to build a copy of my favourite 2x10. The wood is still in my basement in fine form, and I need another small cab for one of my "quiet" gigs with my YBA-1. Now I just need to find the plans for something that will suit my Traynor.

See sig. The 15/6 will do the nasty quite well with a moderate-wattage tube head. I've driven the tweeterless prototype of it with a old Fender Bassman 100 and it sounds especially awesome when CRANKED.
I had no idea this club even existed. My old Dukane tube PA conversion head should fit in quite nicely !

Just noticed a mistake in the schematic. There should be a resistor from point "A" to ground, to avoid a pop when the mute switch is operated.

I also took a Behringer plasti-cab pa, stripped the guts out of it, put in a 4 ohm deltalite that I bought from Jorge at Schroeder cabs, put a champagne cork in the tweeter hole. It weighs 20 lbs, sounds great, and fits in my car. The wedge shape makes corner placement a breeze, and corner placement just makes all the difference in the world. And when there is full PA support I plop it in front of me; soundmen love that. No pics, 'cause you've all seen the behringer plasti-cabs before.....
I've another project with a floor tom, down firing woof, two mids mounted on the side of the shell. It's not done yet; the top vibrates like....like...like a drum. More work is needed....

I used the 18Sound midrange driver and my own passive crossover for this one.
Those look like 80's home stereo speakers from sears....

Just kidding! Very cool construction! and they look like cabs my wife would actually be happy to have in our living room!

Count me in, i finished my first cabinet around a month or so ago. Im 16 and couldn't afford to buy one. Its roughly
tuned to 42hz, and is surprisingly good. It doesn't cover full range but it does mids really well, and thumps out the low end. Im planning to make a 1x15+6 of my own design or if i can afford the speakers and enough plywood one of greenboys 1x15+6, but will need to ask many questions on that.
Now for some not great pics, im trying to get hold of some carpet to cover it in. Maybe a cloth grill to cover the front as well.
Nearly cut the top of my middle finger making it. Ive got a red stained baffle board.
Are there any good books on cabinet design as i prefer using my head then computers.
