The Horror

Undercooked poultry can cause some very serious illnesses. Poultry must be cooked to at least 180 degrees Farenheit.

Here are some of the most common diseases that one may contract from consumption of undercooked or raw poultry.

Campylobacter jejuni: A serious diarrheal illness.

Salmonella:

Staphylococcus aureus:

Listeria moncytogenes:

If you develop a fever, severe stomach or intestinal pain or diarrhea, see a doctor at once because these poultry-bourne infections can be extremely disabling. Also report your infection to your county public health department. They will want to know when and where you contracted the illness. They will also keep track to determine if others were similarly infected. They may conduct an inspection of your school cafeteria to check on the way poultry is handled and prepared.

Even if the cafeteria personnel would not listen to your complaint, you could still report your expereicne to the school principal. This is a serious health matter and your school should not just let this situation blow over.

You did the right thing. NEVER, NEVER eat undercooked or raw poultry.

+1.

Had those symptoms. Didn't clear out of my body for 6-7 days. It felt like being hit by a bus in the head, while kickboxers used my back for a training exercise. During this, you couldn't move any more than 10' from a washroom, because alien chestbursters were making their way through your stomach into your intestines.

Everyday... I eat... school lunch...

$3.00 x 180 = $540.00. Bah! almost enough for a deluxe P bass.

The numbers involved were smaller, but that's how I bought my first bass. At about $.90 a day, I saved my lunch money from mid-September till April and dropped it on a Ventura Beatle Bass copy. It was crap. But it was mine.

I did report them to the County School district. This morning I got called to the principal's office and he gave me my money back and I've got free lunch now. But I'm not so sure i'm ready to enjoy another bloody meal. He told me not to spread the word around about it to the other students , too late for that! :)

I don't feel sick at all , so I don't think I have any disease. Thanks for listening to my rant yall, and thanks for the suggestions and such.

That's a really crappy way for them to deal with something like that. I say:tell more people what happened, and boycott the cafeteria.
