The hum stops when I touch the strings

I mean, I saw your problem instantly. Can't you see it? ... 
Fine example of proper wiring of the ol' rotary flebbunkramoose down on the lower right.... 
Obviously the discombobulator in the lower left has combobulated and needs to be replaced. It looks like it might be an old, germanium one and those are hard to get anymore. It can be replaced with a silicone discombobulator, some guys say it affects the tone but I say they’re full of it… 
The silicon-controlled rectumfryer looks bjorked. Does it smell faintly gankly?
Wet your fingers first! That'll cure the problem once and for all...(nice know ya!)
