The Ibanez Club (Part 2)

bout a grand, but you can get em used for 700 or so. It's the sr1000 in walnut and mahogany. They also made one with a bubinga/mahagony which goes for around the same. I think these two wood choices are both discontinued now, but you can still find them new if you look around as it was only discontinued at the beginning of the year. They still make the sr1000efm which is the same exact bass in maple, as well as one that's maple and painted blue... (these are on ibanez site in the SR prestige area)...but eh, not the same as walnut/mahagony! I actually realized it was being discontinued and grabbed this one up real quick...No idea why they stopped making the walnut and the bubinga models but I have a feeling they will still make a few as limited editions or something (the bubinga one was always limited anyway)

Yeah that is just beautiful looking. How much better is the sound with an active vs passive ibanez?

I haven't actually played a passive ibanez honestly. My first bass (which I still have) was an sr300dx which at the time was their cheapest active bass...I love active EQ though, I couldn't live without it at this point. I never even use the knobs on my amp anymore, I just do all the EQ on my bass instead.

BEAUTIFUL bass, I just got rid of one of those about six months ago. I can't join the club unfortunately... I don't have an ibanez, I started with a 91 exb504, but this past valentines day I gave it to my wife as her first bass. I do have an ibanez on layaway though, so as soon as I get it out of layaway I'll ask to join :]

Wow I had that exact same combo a year ago when I was starting out, Red GSR200 + Fender Rumble 15. Got rid of it pretty fast though, and I don't really miss it, but it brings back memories (if only from a year ago).
