The Quilted top is, believe it or not, An SR905. That's my baby, I got it direct from Ibanez and had one of the guys there hand pick it for me, he found it and called me and was telling me how shocked he was that it even existed. both the top and back are quilted like that. I love it.

Hey Danimal-I love your SR905...she's Beautiful, man!! The SR900-905 series by Ibanez changed my bass playing life!! I'd been playing a Fender Precision Bass since about 67, but with my small hands and predjudice against Ibanez, I suffered!! But I finally tried a SR905,and was blown away with its playability and tone. But I'm a 4-stringer and started a 3 month trek over the country to test drive one to be sure this bass was for me. I finally located an SR900 in LA (I live in Iowa) and I was again blown away with its tonal range and it played like greased lightning. This bass literally improved my playing by 100%. It opened up whole new realms of bass playing for me and my skills rapidly developed further. It led to playing fretless almost exclusively now,so unfortunately I rarely use it. But this is the bass that totally changed my my playing...its one of the best basses out there in any price range IMHO. Here's mine, Chillin' by the Pool...Peace...DAcat

Do you want a number? THat might be hard, as there's the original thread that went 53 pages before this thread got started, which makes about 70 pages of posts to go through in order to get the numbering right.

Yeah I was looking for a number. I wasn't aware there were that many pages so I guess I doesn't matter that much, or i'll wait patiently lol!!!

SubXero, how much does that bass run, that looks beautiful!!!

bout a grand, but you can get em used for 700 or so. It's the sr1000 in walnut and mahogany. They also made one with a bubinga/mahagony which goes for around the same. I think these two wood choices are both discontinued now, but you can still find them new if you look around as it was only discontinued at the beginning of the year. They still make the sr1000efm which is the same exact bass in maple, as well as one that's maple and painted blue... (these are on ibanez site in the SR prestige area)...but eh, not the same as walnut/mahagony! I actually realized it was being discontinued and grabbed this one up real quick...No idea why they stopped making the walnut and the bubinga models but I have a feeling they will still make a few as limited editions or something (the bubinga one was always limited anyway)
