Here's my Soundgear but I don't know exactly what model it is. Built in '92 in Japan, but doesn't seem to match any of the photos in Ibby's catalogs.
It matches the SR1300 in the '93 catalog:

About 12 weeks later now and I picked up my BTB 1305 on Wednesday night. This is really a nice bass. I'm going to play it at church tomorrow morning. Review pending.

Thanks, Dan. I pulled the neck off tonight and, sure enough, it is a 1300. The guitar store I bought it from had it labelled SR480. Nice to get an upgrade.
Oh, yeah. For a USED SR480. Can't complain about that. I know it's been said before, but I ain't never gonna let this baby go.
The main reason I didn't think it was the SR1300 is due to it's rich, deep brown color. The SR1300 in the catalog looks bright red, nowhere near as brown as mine.

THats a cool ass bass. How many knobs was on that thing?
Similar to my '82 Blazer bought from Fenderhutz, only white and p/j-- same shape to the PG etc. I sure love me some Vintage Ibby. The price is right and they play beautifully.
I put flats on mine-- definitely the right string. Roto flats now, maybe someday I'll put something else on.
I think they have 5 and a switch or two, if it's like my same vintage active roadster. My Roadster has vol/blend, a passive/active switch, a three way pup sleector, and active boosts and cuts. I'm forgetting if they're two or three band...
The musician is basically a neck thru version of what I have... only not P/J. Boy do I want one!

THats an interesting layout for the controls. I am digging the radiused PUPs
From reading this thread I'm guessing that this one is a mid-80s Roadstar II
It's being donated to the church's arsenal. I cleaned the pots, restrung it with DR Hi-Beams. Checked the neck, adjusted the saddles (only slight buzz above the 12th fret), set the intonation. I then adjusted the PUP height, and polished it up.
It's my intention to play it at church this Sunday and simply leave it there for 'as needed' use going forward.
It's a nice little bass, I was impressed.

I've a SR400 - color listed as 'lavender' but sure looks more like a dark blue to me. It's a nice bass - certainly more than good enough for gigs for the moment. Nice balance, nice feel, nice tone...There's a picture of it on my intro posting.

You can see the difference in the control layout. Mine also has 22 frets, not 24.
I'm beginning to think that Ibanez didn't make the Musician exactly the same for any two years - does anyone know for sure?

I fell in love with it at first sight when I saw it hanging in Alex Music* on 48th St. in Manhattan in 1981. Then I plugged it in, and its tone and versatility blew me away - I had to have it. This bass was way over the top back in '81.
It was like having a high-fashion model for a girlfriend who also taught calculus on weekends, but would make you a sandwich whenever you asked!
I still love it. By the way, there's a full-length photo of it at the bottom of page 4 of this thread.
