WOW....those lawsuits! Quite a collection!! 
Yeah! That's exactly why I bought it! The Roadstar 5 strings were produced briefly in '85 and '86 (they changed the design in '86 and at which point, it looked more or less just like a Soundgear). They had 4-string pickups and necks, just a different headstock and bridge so the string spacing is really narrow. It's such an awesome bass (although right now, it's not set up too well and it has crappy strings on it...haven't gotten around to changing them). And it looks so black metal!!
When I have a bit more money and time, I'm going to get it playing smooth and clean...like it should be!
It's a little tricky, how thin the neck is for 5 strings. But it's a Roadstar! And I love Roadstars...
