i sold my gsr200 almost a year ago.

That's the same model (same color even) that my church had for a few years until they upgraded to a Specter. I like my ibby 405 better than either of them thoughHere's my SR400 I bought this weekend. Love it!
There have been a few of these posted already, but here's my first ever Ibanez bass - a 1985 Roadstar II RB630 ...
It started off life looking like this ...
But I made a few (reversable) mods, including cavity shielding & star grounding (for zero hum), installing a Lindy Fralin Vintage P Bass pickup with new pots and caps, adding a custom-made b/w/b pickguard (without the cut-out for truss rod access) and a pair of chromed brass P Bass knobs.
Now it looks like this ...
The tone and feel are very '70s Fender P Bass, but it weighs only 8lbs (thanks to its basswood body, no doubt
). Action and playability are surprisingly good and I like the (slimmer than Fender) neck profile too.
All in all, it's a very simple but effective bass - just right for my simple (and hopefully effective
) playing style

I was just giving the bass its final set up ... when I over-tightened the truss rod and snapped it

I'm going to sell the bass for parts now, so (Europeans) keep your eyes on Ebay.

SRX is a great line of basses, my only beef is I like my pickup in between where they have both their pickups. Only thing keeping me from snapping one up.
(I would have to convert it to passive VVTT though... )

I recently aquired this fretless gem!! This beautiful Jade Japenese-made Fretless Ibanez SDGR 800 4 string bass with active pick ups, was made in Fuji, Japan, in 1993 according to its serial number. I'm not the original owner so I can't give you all its history. The SDGR 800 was one of the "highest -end" basses that Ibanez built at that time though. This bass was originally a fretted vesrsion but it looks like it was professionally customized to a fretless. I got this bass a couple monthes ago, as well as a semi-hollow body fretless and I'm not sure which bass I'll keep yet...but if someone in this club is looking for a bass like this one, I thought I ought to let them know that this one does exist and may become available. It has the classic SR narrow neck that plays easy with low action, and its in very good condition. Its Active EQ provides a lot of tonal variety and potential...it can make some nice growls and mwah. The neck is straight and its all set up and ready to play. The only issues it has are a few small nicks on the headstock(which I forgot about till I started taking photos of it again ) and a few small ones on the body near the the plug-in for the cord as well...I can get you more pics/ close-ups to see these nicks if interested...but overall the paint job is in very good shape for its age. The neck is lined with white inlays alternating with black inlays (see pics). As I had'nt seen many of these around before I got mine I thought I'd share the pics for those of you just love fretless basses. PM me for any questions...Peace...DAcat
