Yeah, I know, I really have slacked off terribly, not issuing any new numbers in the last 20 hours. 
If this thread really had died and Danomite hadn't been active in it for a few months/years, that'd be one thing, but he's pretty active and he's been handing out the numbers in this club for longer than I've been a member of this site.Ok...no need to get your knickers in a knot there mate, just keeping the thread alive. I was just curious as to how rare a 1983 ibanez roadstar 2 RB820 is . I have found a mint one , it is the silver smoke with the single pickup and has an original hardshell case . this is the one with the 2+2 headstock..I was just wondering if I should pick it up or not..
If the asking price is reasonable then yes it's worth it, these were only out for one season (83-84) so you won't be seeing too many around that are mint.
Well I looked at it the other day and he Does not know what to ask for it . So I was going to offer a couple hundred bucks for it. it looks and feels as if it is brand new . frets are perfect . and the strings are so dead I would go as far as to say it hasn't really been played since the 80's.. One of my most fondly remembered basses was a early ibanez roadster tobacco sunburst with the cream colored pickups and a preamp. i loved that bass..I think it was a 1979 wish I would have held onto that one.
Thats a great finish, IMO black hardware would make it perfect. Too few manufacturers make a good deep purple finish.

i would change the hw out for the cosmo black, and put some black DR's on it and do naughty things to it ( like playing cheesey porn funk on it)
I get to play now. Just picked it up last week. I had a $1K budget and couldn't walk away from this baby. Not bad for spending half of what I was planning on spending!

EDIT: Just checked the site, they FINALLY got rid of that stupid "style-sweeper" and just put a 3-band in there. It's about time.
EDIT EDIT: They also replaced the basswood body with mahogany. I think I just had a G.A.S. attack.
