The Ibanez Club (Part 4)

Ok, since I got the number, I might as well show'em.
These are the Ibanez(es) that I have with me right now.

1. 82' Ibanez Blazer P bass - The most kick ass P I've ever owned. It's my main bass. I sold her once, but I have to get her back again.

2. I'm not sure when this one was made, but probably around the same time as the P. It's Cimar by Ibanez Jazz Bass. She looks like hell. But she sounds just fine.

3. My SR590 modded with Bassline STC-2. I have to say this bass worth everything I paid for.

I thought it was just me who screwed up club numbers! lol

I gave two different guys the same number.

I dropped another guy through the cracks and he got a little miffed.

Yup - a club-starter is never in a good light - kinda like the bass player you never see in the videos or is in the dark at the back of the band - preferrably out in the wings of the stage.

Or the parking lot with a long cord. .

Yeah man, I dug into it last night... it was a severe FAIL on whoever had it before me, looks like they flopped an EMG install for the bridge... wires were shorted, the stock pickup on the neck wasn't even connected, the battery terminal was shorted directly to the ground leg of the EMG. Isolated the EMG and tried hooking up just the bridge pickup, sounded like poop... Going to Guitar Center tonight, just gonna have them install another EMG and clean up the electronics for me. I'm an electrical engineer, but without the schematics and the other pickup, I'm just gonna let them do it.

Other than the electronics, I need to replace the craptastic knobs since the woman I got it off of didn't have anything else, I assume they are lost in time... so I may as well upgrade.

The only thing I can't find anywhere is the small cover for the headstock... not sure what was supposed to be there, but I may make something custom if I can't find anything.

Thanks! Yeah, it's weird, it's a Transparent Teal according to the catalog offering, confusing part is that it was never an option in the 1994 catalog, wasn't available until 95 by catalog, so it looks like someone special ordered it in 1994 Neckthrough, Fretless, and Transparent Teal!

As a matter of fact, there was. They made Cimar in this headstock in the '82.

Its common for production to start the season before release, so yours was made in the Cort factory in 94, but was probably not seen on a shop rack until 95 after the first lot of orders from namm were fulfilled...but they are a rarity to find in FL and in such clean condition. And the truss rod cover you can get through any Ibby dealer, just give em this part number 4PT1CSR1B

oh, and if you want the original gold control knobs their part id is 4KB1C1G

That production answer makes complete sense!

And holy crap man! Where did you find that info?! I BAREFLY determined the model let alone find any information like parts lists or part numbers! Sorry hope you don't mind sharing where the info came from, I know some people like to keep stuff like that to themselves! Lol. And who would I order through? Ibanez says that they only offer parts back 10 years. Local distributor maybe?

I used to work for Ibanez until i changed hemispheres lol!
If you go to ibanez.com you can use the dealer tool to find your closest ibby shop...then just give em those part numbers i gave you and your good to go...and they are still compatible with your SDGR, nothing has changed much in the way or truss covers and control knobs etc...

BTW...if you don't go with the EMG upgrade i can sort you out with original boards, pickups and even schematics if you so need them...
