Thanks. I'm still getting some weirdness with my tracks levels.

On that last clips I recorded a DM1 drum track looping into MTDAW, then did two guitar tracks with the Irig. My fourth track was keys with Sunrizer XS. Track five was the bass, and it was also don't through Irig.

When I did the mixdown, the bass track mysteriously vanished. It happened to my bass tracks in Loopy before as well.

It's like the Irig adapter cuts the levels of my bass to such a low volume that I can hear it well with headphones but it vanishes in the final mix. Weird.

I'm gonna try doing a recording with the PA as my monitor instead of the headphones. I expect the same result because my output is still going through the Irig adapter. I've gotta get the Jam ASAP, this thing is ruining my progress!!

I tracked the problem down to the levels that my presets in Jamup are sending to MTDAW. Not sure how I'm gonna fix it.

Calvin, can you add separate input and output adjustment to Jamup? Kinda like (and I hate to say it) the other guy has in the Tools tab?

I am far from it but a pro would tell you that the b15 would be the amp of choice to funk with in the studio...because its not far from the "Motown" sound. But it all depends on you and your output situation: your bass's voice (strings)(pickup)(passive/active eq), the speaker output (pa)(amp)(combo)they all have their own voice so you probably would want to start where rip said because he probably gets a great slap pop funkiness to his gear. But as he says and I agree don't necessarily get your tone with your eyes as much as using your ears.....because if its the funk tone you hear and you like it then its good.

What are you disappointed with? Have you tried Apogee and Jamup with headphones? Or is the sound coming out out of your combo?
You don't like the tone? Is it too clean? Too dirty?
If you experience noise, then it should not be there with the Jamup and the Apogee. What do you use? iPad? iPod? iPhone?
Want tone you are after? What amp did you try? What are your settings?
You should specify what you are disappointed with. As far as I. Know you are among the very few, actually the only one to be disappointed with the Apogee and the Jamup.

I have been using with headphones. Have not been able to hook it up to combo amp yet its at the practice space.

Yes the tones don't do it for me at all. No matter how much I tweak and change it never gets there. The tones to me either seem twangy or muddy. I think if I was using it for recording it would be great but I want it for live use only. And if the tones in my headphones are replicated on the amp its not going to work for me at all.

I think I might be the only one. Thats why I kinda feel bad saying it! I'm looking for a nice punchy clean tone. Like in my previous post, something kind of funky. I have tried all the amps. Scooping the mids, raising the mids, compressor on, compressor off, eq pedal on, eq off...

What kind of headphones?? The iDevice can only drive efficient headphones properly.
Again what kind of tone you are after? As far as I feel the Jamup can "nail" about any type of tone you are after, live or for recording.
You have to remember there are headphones and there are headphones, just like not every cab / speaker is the same. If you use good IEM or good light driven headphones then your tone will be just fine.

Using some Bose headphones. They don't require an amp at all. Its plenty loud in the headphones and plenty of bass response and definition of sound. I dont think its the headphones.

I'm looking for a nice punchy clean tone. Like in my previous post, something kind of funky but not for slap just a good finger tone. I'm playing a Fender Jazz.

I'll not start HiFi war here, but Bose do not make only good headphones.
Go to my soundcloud and listen to the recordings I've done with the Geddy.
Here are my settings on my Redhead, ignore the MuTron.

I would try a different set of headphones, or at least do a test bypassing the preamp on your amp's head.

Can you give an example of the tone you are looking for? (perhaps a YouTube clip). I'm sure many folks on this forum can help steer you in the right direction.

Don't fret! I'd be a little disappointed if I had to judge my experience with amp-sims by how they sound with the few pairs of headphones I tried (nothing really appropriate for this kind of thing). But I'm very happy with the sound(s) I get through my amp.

If those Bose headphones boost/change signals 'too much' it can certainly mess with tone. But if it's not your headphones, something is amiss and some troubleshooting may be in order (until you can try an amp or different headphones; heck, even a pair of ear buds may at least tell you something about those Bose by comparing the two).

You've good batteries in your bass and Jam?

Are you plugged into anything before the iDevice (real pedals, for example)?

Curious: is it possible to have the gain too high on the Jam, along with too much volume from the bass, going to JamUp - so it gets muddied up? Would passive vs active/hot PUs influence things?

If you're curious and the amp is still out of reach, you could try plugging into an alternative "headphone in" source briefly to see how much that changes your sound; it would make for a better troubleshooter than long-term solution, but if you at least hear something different, it may ease your mind about the mud you're getting out of the Bose.

I too think you have a headphone problem. This tone is not hard to achieve..... The red head is very punchy if you want more bass on an amp don't turn up the bass you'll over drive it and your headphones.... bring the highs and mids down a tad and bump the output. I also max the aural knob. And remember with head phones your not gonna feel your bass through your legs and body in you tone it's all about the mix.

Well I'm definitely not going to turn this into a technique conversation cause I'm sure I'll run away crying at myself in that case! :)
