The Killers' bassist?

Discussion in 'Bassists [BG]' started by The Mock Turtle Regulator, Jun 30, 2004.

  1. The Killers have had quite a bit of success in the UK- "Mr Brightside" was a top 10 single.
what success are they having back home in the US?

they strike me as an Interpol with catchier songs.
the singer sounds to me a bit like Rick Witter of Shed seven.
also reminiscent of the Psychedelic Furs.

anyway, the bassist plays some pretty interesting lines- eg. "somebody told me", chords, and had a nice crunchy tone when they played live on Later. he uses a pick on a maple neck Jazz.

  2. You would wanna post this in recordings I think, but hey it doesnt matter. They just released their first single "somebody told me" here. I'm not sure how successful it is, i dont listen to mainstream radio, ive only seen the video on MTV. But they sound good to me.

  3. "Somebody Told Me" has some of the funniest lyrics I have ever heard. I didn't really pay attention to the bass I was laughing too hard.
