In Europe in general, there are not Many Lumie Kramers. Seems to be more Lumie Kramers over there than Wood necks, which is just odd??

Add me guys. I've owned Kramers and grand kids of Kramers my whole career. I am posting my Vaccaros/Hartke for now, and when I finish taking good pix of the 1977 Kramer 650B I'll post it.


I live near the old factory and know many of the original people who owned and ran Kramer. As a matter of fact, Henry Vaccaro Sr., the owner of Kramer and then Vaccaro, had a birthday yesterday.

thanks amimbari. I did a little research and apparently they only made it for one year. speculation is that is could be left over USA parts, repainted headstock and sent to Japan??
just what I read. I'm sure somebody knows the real story (hopefully). plays great, I love the neck and the string tension is a little different that my Pbasses. in JJ mode it's pretty fat, totally new tone for me to mess with. this bass would be a slappers dream, I slap for fun but it never finds it's way into my music.

'76 450B. Bought it used in 1980 for $150 with the original case. I didn't know I was standing at the top of a slippery slope. Pure beginners luck, I'd never even held a bass before that party. I just asked what was in the case. It came with three strings.

Now sporting Dimarzio stacked humbuckers, Wilkerson bridge, Les paul knobs, Bart three band preamp, now fretless, the slots filled with maple strips. TI Jazz flats. MWAWWW!

Still weighing in at over 13 lb, but it seems heavier every day.

Put me down for number, please.

And if any body was interested..., I'm not motivated enough put it the classifieds just yet but I'm thinking about it.

taurus1, as far as i know, they were made using a mix of american and japanese parts. Because that model was in production in Kramer Japan FOR Kramer japan well until the company closed.
