uh...but you missed my point 
many times I see you say "I want a pointy 80's whatever with a kahler...you find your bass, obviously it's perfect for you, your gonna keep it, so the cost that you purchased it for is irrelevant for the years of fun you will have with it setup to your g.a.s list bass wish.

That's why I modded the heck out of my creme one, I'll never get the money back I spent on ebay tomorrow but it don't matter because it'll be my main player for a long time and the mods make it sound like I want and need.

for 60 bucks for a playable unit how could I lose? This one sounds exactly like my white one I sold off, so to me I just "changed colors" 
my black and white mid 80's Kramers also had that longer head on them, my Forum was a late 80's and by then they shortened it and changed the angle. Just like old Charvel heads and the newer Jackson heads.
that new red ZX will be a project, and I am going to give the loaded body to KBF so he can mess with it cause he likes that stuff. I only bought it because I wanted to create another Frankenbass from the neck on one of my other Charvel bodies like I did to another one of mine, except now with a painted headstock it will be a red body and matching head
p.s.
out of the box, this thing was "almost" perfect...no dents no scratchy pots or dead pickup, new strings last night, a quick setup and intonation, and the only issue is a loose tuner ear on the E string tuner that rattles ( for now )...lol

Kramer wasn't making Aerostars in 85', and thats an earlier model, so 1986 or early 87'.

Then again, all of this is rough speculation on my part, because nobody puts any effort at all to keeping track of the Kramer Wooden Necked Basses over at Vintage Kramer....

So I just traded some stuff for a XKB-10. Its just the body the neck and part of the bridge.
Where would I get a nut for this thing?
I can figure out the tuners, saddles(probably new bridge), pickup(single bucker), electronics.
Oh yah, would a tele electronics plate work?
I want to get this thing going soon. Might sell it after I get it all pretty/functional.

My first bass guitar was and is a kramer 700ST (thanks KramerBassFan). Got it very cheap from a guy who refinishes G&L's. It had been his gig bass but he was onto his G&L career. This bass sounds great and will survive with the cockroaches after nuclear fall out. And still be in tune.
