I can quite tell from your pic .. is it bass tuners, or guitar-size tuners ?

So glad to hear that !! Now like I already told ya, you need to start coming up with clever answers to "gee, why only two strings ?" You WILL get that question over and over. My 1st Krapola had guitar tuners. I totally dug the aesthetic, but it was painful on the fingers to tune up. Bass tuners could not be used in replacement, cuz posts would be too tall for the head. Replacing with Gotoh guitar tuners with higher gear ratio than the originals did the trick for me.
So how are you tuning it (what notes) ? What kind of strings, etc ?
I apologize... I should just leave you be, to enjoy your new instrument. But I am always psyched to know of another 2-string bassist.
I ordered it tuned EA...since I'd been practicing moving notes from the D and G strings to the E and A. I may move to ED tuning at a later time so that I don't push so many notes down the fret on the D string.
The strings are Kevin's choice. Right now...they seem ok...but I have been thinking since I ordered about putting some flats on it instead...my wife isn't a fan of the sound of fingers along round-wounds...<shrug>.
I plugged it into my amp and tinkered a bit...I know snippets of Dazed and Confused by Zep, Seven Nation Army by the White Stripes and Walking on the Moon by the Police. They all sound really good on the HH. I'm already challenged by not having fret markers though...so...that will be my first act is to get something on there. I miss the 7 and 9 too often.
Everyone asks about the quality of Kevin's work. I play for myself...not in a band and I don't play in public. I researched a LOT about cigar box guitars...so I know more than most about "less than perfect" over the perceived "perfect" commercial models in your local retailer (I own one of those too). Well...I'm VERY happy with what Kevin made me. It has the rustic qualities that I was looking for in particular...those elements of "hand made". Those who are seeking the same commercial "perfection" should look elsewhere...but me...I like "rustic perfection"...and I like the sound a rustic instrument makes. I can say with pride that my instrument is made in America, not China or Korea or any of the Slovakian block.
Music is in the musician...more so than the instrument (I know...age old argument). A musician can make ANY instrument sound good. Kevin's quality is much higher than most of what I can find at an equivalent price from Chinese manufactures. My "cheap" bass...well...it sounds like a bass, it looks cool (and smells cool...love that oiled wood smell) and it plays very easily. Consider this consumer a believer in Krappy Guitars!
The tuners on my 2 McKrappys are very easy and smooth to tune and I've never had any pain or strain using them.
So...cases...anyone have comments on a case recommendation? A 2-string seems a bit small for most bass cases.

Never found a proper case, but I've been known to stick mine in a regular backpack with the necks sticking out.
Protect ya neck tho.
I've used a zippered padded rifle case I bought at Dick's for under $20, but it sometimes raises eyebrows going to a gig with it.
It is an electric solid-body tenor ukulele with non-reentrant tuning.
Or... it is a 4-string alto guitar.
Depends on what phase the moon is in.
Ibanez makes an ultra-small bass called 'Mikro'.
They also make a gigbag designed for that model (says 'Mikro' on the bag). My "Les Paul" 2-string fits perfectly in this case. Couldn't ask for a better fit.
On the other hand, I tote my "Joe Diddley" 2-string in a
Field & Stream rifle case, from Dick's Sporting Goods.
Gotta be careful where I tote, though. I am thinking of stencilling "NOT A GUN" onto the case. You think anyone would believe it ?

I got a regular scaled bass. I know he does short scale basses...tell him what you'd like...he pretty much accomodates most all requests that I've seen.
He made my 2 string at 29.75" scale. It weighs pretty much nothing and out slides any guitar i have played. I strongly suggest Kevin's short scale work.
My 4-string Krappy "Bo Diddley" model is 30" scale. With the black nylon-coated flatwounds & short scale, it is super-easy to play fast runs. It's the closest this bass-player gets to feeling like a guitar-player.
I use a Cabela's zipper shotgun case for my Twiggy-3 - the kind meant to accomodate a two-piece disassembled shotgun (action + barrel). The bass fits perfectly in the main section, and the stick fits in the barrel sleeve, and an outside zip pocket for a cable and my cello end-pin floor pad. Ballistic nylon outside, soft cloth / padded insides. What's not to like?

you mean bass in gun case .. ? Here is that. As for 30" scale Krappy, it is the square 4 string job in the picture I posted earlier with all 5 Krappy's
