The Krappy Bassists Klub

That pusheen is reproduced real nicely. What tuning do you have on it?
I've had it on display not being played for long enough now that I don't remember! I think it's strung A D and I tuned it down to E A.

EDIT: Without a truss rod, the action is very high, which is one of the reasons I detuned it. You have to be OK with a very roughly made instrument.

Was scrolling through the Krappy website today and noticed Kevin is making aluminum instruments. Anyone know if he's making the whole instrument out of aluminum? I'm jonsing for an aluminum fingerboard fretless...
Email him and ask. He's highly responsive. It looks like he's got a couple entirely-aluminum instruments.

OK..here we go!
I just ordered a 10 string Touchstyle...
I designed the body.
Woods:
Body: Bloodwood
5 piece neck: maple, jatoba, padauk.
Fretboard: Leopardwood
Electronics: Audere Audio Pro Z Preamp
Here are the roughs

She's done!!!!!
All I need to do is add my preamp. Kevin routed out the control cavity a little larger than he normally does to make room for the preamp and extra knobs. So I will be drilling holes for 3 more knobs (EQ: Hi, Mid, Bass), 2 switches (Mid Freq switch and Z Mode switch), and an LED for the battery. I will use the extra hole he left open for me for the preamps jack.

Nice stuff here. Ok I've been broke! But going for it h, sending Kevin something to start a project in January. Deciding between two drawings, and I've decided on a bass-only version, like the Chapman SB-8. Learning about tunings, and since I've never done this In going for the layout that sounds most reasonable (Matched Reciprocal Tuning, scales contiguous for hands wisely spaced apart... I think).
I'm be back...

And how about those typos! Huh?! :D

Hi Folks,

I'm thinking of buying one of Krappy's 12 string tappers, but have never had my hands on one before. Is there anyone within about an hour - hour and half of Boston who would be willing to let me get my hands on an instrument for an hour or so?
