The Kustom Club

Here is a pic that you may have seen in another post. I absolutely love this rig- the cabs are JBL D140's. I have a matching set in Black with Altec 421-A's which sound a little "sweeter' if that makes sense. I own a bunch of Kustom tuck and roll.

SWEEEET ! Here is my 69' with 421a Altec's.This beauty had been in a guy's closet for 41 years.Pristine conditon.

I just picked up a Kasino 400 w/8-10's. The faceplate and chassis are mint. I'm restoring the cabinet. Is it possible to get the silver piping and correct vertical multi-stripe grille cloth. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

My Rock band just bought a little Kustom PA for 300 bucks. Mainly just for rehearsals and possibly parties/small gigs.

Kustom Profile 200 - 100w per side, 6 channels and two speakers with dual 6.5 inch woofers + horn. Just for vocals and acoustic guitar (sometimes). It sounds good, keeps up with us at about 50 percent volume, does exactly what we hoped it would do.

Got a 3 year replacement warranty with it for 30 bucks, even if damaged they give us a brand new one. No tax, free shipping. Great deal.

Heys guys! Do you know by chance if the current KUSTOM KXB200 head ([Invalid or Expired Link Removed]) is the same old Kustom Deep End DE 200 head (Invalid Link Removed) with just a different look? The EQ looks identical and overall these 2 amps seem pretty similar. Any idea whether these sound different or not?

Hello All ... will upload pic of my Kustom rig later. I am on a bit of a fact finding mission about my gear. My (mid 70's) Kustom 2 Bass head (kustom 11-B) says it's output is 50 watts (back of the head) but it doesn't list ohms. The cabinet lists nothing on the back of it.

The cab w/ this is great but really heavy. I was thinking about looking into some of these newer cabs w/ NEO speakers to ease up on the chiropractor bills. I just don't want to blow speaker cabs or fry the Kustom 2.

Anyone have further info on this amp?

the coolest bass amp of the day that I played through (early 70s) was a Kustom 400 (stereo) with 4 3-15" CTS cabs... it was a big club, and the sound was a little 'boxy' next to the cabs, but sounded punchy and deep off the stage... you could almost watch the ashtrays walk across the tables... alas, I did not own the rig... I had an Acoustic 370 w/ 2 301 bottoms... killer loud, but I always defered the the other rig when it was available... (them were the days of 2 bands every night...)

I'm one of those bassists who was alive and playing when these came out and who shares your opinion that Altecs sounded "sweeter" than JBLs. I like JBLs too.
