The Kustom Club

She's kinda dusty, I don't actually know much about it, so if someone could tell me about it that would be nice.
Can I get a club number?

Can I get a number too please? I've got a Kustom 250 with 215 ported cab, all black Tuck-n-roll, all original. (yes that is a second identical Kustom 250 head in the photo, and no I don't run them both at the same time - I just couldn't resist the opportunity to pick up a second one when the opportunity presented itself!)

I guess I should post here.

I bought this new in 1965.

Its a J495RV

According to the Vintage Kustom Site the SN designates that this is the 193 one made of approximately 10,000

Notice that the light jewel is red. This was before Bud Ross told them to change it to blue so he could tell which amps were Kustom's on stage.

Here's a promo shot with it in the background. We were touring with the Shindig Show and backing artists like Del Shannon and Bobby Sherman.

Here it is now

Thanks for letting a geezer reminisce ;)

Most "seasoned" bassists don't like Kustom. You suprised me good sir.

That is such a sweet looking rig and a great back story, thanks for sharing it with us!

I've tried out several newer 215 cabs and none have the same "house shaking, feel it in your gut" feel that my Kustom has. Don't know if its the porting, the drivers, the cab dimensions, or some magical sum of all the parts, but its uniquely great!

I appreciate the offer, but the shipping fee + taxes will prolly cost more than the amp itself :) Plus the 110 vs 220 V issue.

Anyway, I don't understand why they've discontinued the line: those amps got pretty good reviews and were decently priced. I don't like the retro vibe of the KXB line that much, I liked the overall design of the Groove line a lot more.
