Heh, I had a show way earlier this summer with another local band and their bassist also had a Lakland. And we were both like "NO WAY!!!" As we had never seen anyone else locally with one.

It was like a little bit of camaraderie amongst bassists

I'm sure people buy it, but who actually reads that wonderful publication?

Yeah, I get that when I see guys play Laklands too. the same is true for amps.....I do not see many DB750's being played at local bars and clubs...I do see a lot of Peavey though....and a lot of Ampeg. I think for most people on the local level, it is about what product is readily available...and affordable.

I got my DJ5 because I loved the design. The sound, neck feel, and smaller body are the reasons I got mine. It had nothing to do with the name on it.

Does anyone with a DJ5 find that notes below the 5th fret sound a bit quieter?
Ive noticed my D on the A string lacks the punch of the E (7th fret).
Tried three different sets of strings and its still there.

Usually the ego comes from the people who have an issue with the basses, not the owners.
