The Lazy Bassist Thread

Well...spending more time reading on Talkbass might qualify me as a lazy bass player....and why does the word Bassist bug me?

I love researching and building bass stuff....customizing...planning.....

Oh....and playing

I noticed this once when trying to figure out a song by another band...except that everything seemed sharp on my bass.

I later figured out that they tuned and recorded the album at A432 rather than A440...
well that's an easy fix since you just have to play one fret lower. It's the In-between that's a pain(Like ~A436) like some Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Tom Petty. That's why I like a 5 string fretless for learning songs.

If you have an iPhone, iPad or Mac - AnyTune - is a solution thats great for retuning songs ..

or slowing parts down or looping a segment

or putting the whole song up two octaves so the bass line is easy to hear.
