The Lefty Union... Revived!

Hi,

Im a lefty with a;

Warwick Streamer Jazzman 5-string and an Upright Bass, which i got flipped from being a right to a lefty... i am currently trying to get the following in lefty;

Rickenbacker 4003 or 4001
Thunderbird IV - (do these come in a left?)

wouldnt mind the duff mckagan signature if it can be customised to left???

ive also spent 2 years trying to get a left ABG... (wasted a whole year on the waiting list for a cort only to be told they stopped making them!!!)

im now looking at;

Ovation B778 or NSB778
or a Cort SJB-CE - (found a second hand one!)

im pretty sure i can get the Warwick, Ovation & Cort in a lefty... not sure bout the other two yet...!!!

any comments (pros/cons) on the above Lefty-Acoustics is most appreciated... :D

It's been over a year since I joined the Lefty Union and I have a few gigs under my belt with the band I started with my husband, Rick: Diezelfitter. I didn't have any photos when I first joined but I do now, so here I am with my Hofner Club Bass at a recent benefit for Camp Hope in Farmington, MO, a camp for disabled veterans who enjoy hunting, fishing, shooting, camping, hiking. Just because they're disabled doesn't mean they don't love the outdoors anymore and Camp Hope gives them the chance to do it with dignity!

My band name is Bootsy Hambone. We all have band names (to protect the guilty). Check us out at Link Removed

I'm a long time lefty that started on a friends right handed bass. I never forgot how to play upside down (which comes in handy checking out new basses in a store) but I never gig upside down. Also I refuse to own a black lefty bass as a protest against so many companys that offer no other color.

AFAIK, Gibson has always been extremely limited as far as their lefty supply goes. A old lefty Thunderbird might exist, but I've never seen a modern one.

your 100% opposite of me mike, I play normally inverted, but can easily play lefty-normal, and do so here and there to show off and make my brain more twisted than it already is.

eh, the strings are the same, the notes and frets are in the same spot, just the patterns change...that's a real brain teaser to play something on the lefty, then pick up the inverted righty and play the same thing ( makes me think about it, if nothing else )

and as far as the "color" selection of left-vs-right ....your correct leftys have it bad, thats why I have 2 of the same thing BOTH IN WHITE :):)

a friend of mine allroyPA on youtube just reversed the strings on a righty Charvel kinda like the ones in the pic, and he loves to play it like Hendrix :D
