I think I fit in this ...

I play for myself ... I always played just for my fun even if I went to college and earn a degree on the DB ... I like to woodshed, be better, learn new technics or expend the technic I already know. Learn more about music theory that I don,t know ... like today I came accross a bout about counterpoint. It is very interesting.

Also, I kind of don't fit often here. I think differently, I like different things in music ... here it is about rock'n'roll, whatever technic and don't dare thinking differently ... but oh well, I like talking about music ...

I'm in the exact same boat right now, only my daughter is 14 months. My wife works at a hospital, so she has to work every other weekend and my career moved us far away from family. My wife, daughter, dog and me is all the support we have. That makes getting out to rehearsal and/or gigs challenging when you have no one to care for your child.

On weekends my wife is off work, I generally try to get out and play somewhere, with someone. I frequently jam with a guitarist I work with, and this weekend I'm sitting in for a 90's cover band. But, as of now, I'm not officially in a band nor gig anymore.

I do miss the band days though. A lot. As soon as I get the chance, I'm getting back out there. I spent way too much on gear for it to stay "mint".

CalboDaGo would you like to join ? love to have you it's not just for people who sit in their basements rocking along to their iPod but for anyone who just gets pleasure from playing the bass and can have fun without being in a band or group it's cool if you are in a band but some people just don't like playing alone.
