no 34" only option??? That would be me all the way. I hate 'em longer and shorter.

Adding an inch for the Bstring is lazy and it changes the tone and feel in lower positions.
32" etc... feels kinda dinky to me.

I have 4 34" scale basses and 1 35" scale bass. The 35" is an Ibanez BTB405QM which served me well from 2001-07, but now my main bass is a 34" 08' MIA Fender Jazz V which I think sounds better than the Ibby, but I could still use the Ibby if I wanted to.

The EB's were made in short and long scale versions (30 or 34, no 32's). Rics are 33.75" scale. The fact that they are not exactly 34" has spread this myth that they are medium scale or something, but it's just 1/4" difference.

Oh, and I voted "I go both ways". All of my current basses are 34", but I'd have no hesitation about buying/using a short or medium scale bass--in fact there are a couple I covet. I don't like longer than 34" personally, but I wouldn't presume to say anyone else should feel the same.
