It’s been a while since I’ve enjoyed a show this much. Before this year, I have never seen any Star Wars jazz since ~1983.

Mrs. nutdog and I really enjoyed S1 but S2 not as much. Baby Yoda is still adorable but the episodes seem like garden variety action/adventure without much movement in the main plot line.

Why didn't they just put the explosive laden animal for the snake/beast thing to eat in the first place? Seemed like the way .

Crash land nearly destroyed ship that falls through the ice. There just happens to be a natural hot tub nearby? Scary ice spiders. Good thing he was finished with the repairs and the xwing dudes show up in a friendly mood.

I got a thing for Rosario (who doesn't) but her character reminded me of the prequel no-personality-serious-dry-monotone.

That's it so far. Looks like 2 more are out. It's entertaining and I'm sure we'll watch but neither one of us is on the edge of our seat.

I'd be willing to bet that the main movies get a lot of internal input from a million people at the studio. Comparatively, I think the team involved with the Mandolorian gets more creative license. That was my impression from watching the making-of. Jon Favreau seems to give the directors a lot of room to put their own spin on things.

I completely agree. The movie mythology (especially with the more recent ones) is generally a mess that's hard to understand. I've given up on the movies, but this show has proven good work can still be done with the franchise. And getting Favreau as the showrunner was a good call.

Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni are truly geniuses making SW great revival. The music is from a Swedish guy Ludwig Göransson, very interesting soundtrack marking distance from previous Williams scores but with some hint about it.

Ha! We watched the latest two episodes last night and I hit pause and asked my wife, “Did he just say TPS reports?”

I'm liking the ideas for the new live action SW shows rumored to come out. The Acolyte and the Ashoka ones especially.

I have very mixed feelings about bringing Hayden Christensen back as Anakin/Vader in the just-announced Kenobi series. But if anyone can pull it off, I have faith in Deborah Chow. She's done a good job directing a couple episodes of The Mandalorian.

I thought Darth Vader's brief action sequence in Rogue One was really exciting. If they can bring Mandalorian level intensity then I am okay with it. I do wonder how they will handle the fact that Vader should have James Earl Jones' voice at this point in the timeline (between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope). Will the writers "ret-con" Vader's character to give him Anakin's speaking voice? Is he going to sound like Christensen with the helmet off and Jones with the helmet on? We'll have to wait and see!

He is actually old friends with Rosiario Dawson. I wonder if she put in a good word for him with the Disney execs. Too bad they are the wrong ages to play live action Anakin/Ashoka.

I don't actually think Christensen's acting was terrible in the prequels. What's the quote about "rising to the level of your incompetence?" Acting in front of a green screen must be the worst, and he just had such awful lines to work with: “I don’t like sand. It’s coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere.” They're bad movies, but Hayden Christensesn didn't single-handedly ruin them.

He was in Jumper, which is a terrible movie that I enjoy. I saw him in something else I can’t remember. He’s not good but the prequels definitely aren’t his fault.

Just watched it (we always get content a day later in the UK). My son guessed it when he saw the ship out the window. If the other planned series are half as good as the Mandalorian well have plenty to enjoy for years to come!
