the meaning behind your TB name?

Gubna was the nickname my old drummer gave me many years ago and it stuck.

Back then I was always saying "we should do this..." or that, and I guess he felt that, along with me thinking ahead and being prepared, I guess he felt I was being bossy. Hence, the slang spelling of the "Governor".

And for the record, he also called me the Gub-a-nator long before Arnold Schwartznegger became governor of California.

As i love doing the loud shoegazey/droney stuff, it makes sence... and everything is better if there is rhyming involved... so:

I think I may have posted earlier,....

warwick = the bass I play

. = to distinguish between two words (also means bump to subscribe,...if you don't like it,....something something something)

hoy,...my last name.

I considered jumping on the change from nickname to real name bandwagon,...but eh,...just check the sig.

Hmm. This made more sense when my username was still TheBigO.

Now the explanation is simple - my username is an homage to the biggest douchebag I know and was verified in KeithBMI's thread.

I'm a Chemical engineer by training & profession, and enjoy playing the bass. It has NOTHING to do with a Cuban revolutionary.

Back in HS & college, I used to build scale models, and got reasonably decent at it. I entered one of my dioramas into a national competition (the Armor Modeling Preservation Society), and won a bronze medal. The model was a WWII German 88mm gun with figures. Hence the 88.

Back in HS I was also known as wowiezowie88 (combination of the 88 with a great tune from Frank Zappa & the Mothers of Invention's "Freak Out") as well as FZMOI88 (Frank Zappa & the Mothers Of Invention + 88).

Kayri is the name of one of my characters in an alternate-universe fan fiction story; she's a member of a group of people fighting in space, who have taken the names of weapons / parts of weapons as their use-names; Kayri is from "Kaeri", a type of knife. She also happens to play bass (much better than I do, I should add...*sigh*) and is the de facto 'entertainment director' for the base on Titan where she is assigned...
