last year I had bridge upgrade adventure on my Fender Marcus V...after I read your post I changed bridge on my M5V. I put there Fender dlx. bridge...let you kow later how it sounds in band...

...I found some threads maybe it will be interesting for you too..
I just think Hipshot-A/Brass is to massive/too heavy...I think Fender or Shaller bridges (maybe BadAss) will work better ...

SPEC: Mike Lull M4 "5A Quilted Maple/Bird's Eye Maple" 4 st. bass w/case Here is an absolutely great sounding and playing used 4 string bass. This one is a U.S. handbuilt Mike Lull M4 4 string model that features a lightweight highly resonant Alder body with a 5A Quilted Maple top, gorgeous Sunburst high gloss finish and all Black hardware. The sleek feeling 34" scale Maple "J" type neck has a Bird's Eye Maple fingerboard with Black dot position markers. The pickups are the passive Lindy Fralin "J" type and they are run through an active Bartolini 3-band eq. system that also has a 3-way Midrange frequency switch and a push/pull Active/Passive switch. This bass is in excellent condition, comes with a Protec lightweight deluxe travel case
 
Hipshot-A-alu is winner :-) I'll put one one my Fender too...there is more meat, more mids, little more live. Fender bridge or Schaller 2000 sounds more bright
