Yes it was it took me almost three months to make the decision to invest that much into a Boutique Thunderbird but ya only live once..lol
I've played those in his shop. If you're down with the styling, then you'd be amazed by this instrument! Feels great, balances well, tone is amazing! It's definitely the best T-bird style bass you'll ever come across, IMO!
Totally agreed on the T-bird. I was lucky to play the prototype...all mahogany, all the time...and it was an incredible sounding instrument. The mojo of just looking at it, and then hearing it...I was ready to write a check.

FWIW, I love the playability of Lull five-string basses. Definitely in the, "Is this really 35"? Doesn't feel like it..." range.

Got to play [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] late last week, and am still giggling like a schoolgirl just thinking about it. Makes me feel VERY happy about the one I've got on order.
Congratulations - Gelb is an AWESOME store! Back when I lived in San Bruno, Gelb was the store that I would go out of my way to try stuff out on my days off!
