Hey Gang...
I just picked this up...Something a little different for me, but it was to good of deal to pass up.

Beauty! I've been jonesing for a Lull P5. I'm getting further and further away from active basses and I seem to just pick up a P when I sit down to play these days. When I pickup my MV-5, I roll the blend forward and use it passive.

I've been passive 6+ years, the last 4+ humbuckers, now REALLY into Thunderbird PUPs!

I can't believe how much I love this bass.
I added little buffer circuit to the back just to make the output level the same as my other basses and it's amazing. Love it

Hi guys! Im not sure if this has been diacussed already but here goes....
Im a big fan of Jeff Ament's Mike Lull basses! And was just wondering, I saw him playing a Mike Lull bass with a Precision Style body but the pickups were not the standard precision style pickups! They looked like Thunderbird pickups! Am I right or are they something else?

@BUCKSHOT . you are right. that's Mikes PT4 bass. You can get Mike's T-bird pickups in several body styles, T, jazz, tele, and P.

Yes, you're right. There's a picture of Jeff playing a PT4, as you describe, on the Mike Lull web site.

Thanks @Holdsg and @Xansky! Much appreciated! Im just wondering how come with the Jeff Ament PT4 basses, the pickup positioning is more evenly placed ( between neck and bridge ) as compared to the standard PT4 models where the pickups seem to be closer to the bridge!

Jeff likes bass bodies that are slightly larger along with headstocks that are enlarged by the same amount and reversed. The normal PT4 is a P bass body with Mike's Tbird pickups.

Compare the PT4 on the left vs the larger Ament style PT4 on the right.

Hi Lull Gang...

Just a heads up.

A lot of us know Paul and I just want to say that Paul is leaving "Guitar Works" and Mike's son Spencer is coming in as the new general manager for the organization.

Please do not reach out to the company the next couple of weeks.

Paul is creating a program to hand off to Spencer and He has to be completed by mid next week. Paul is a bit stressed and working around the clock to make this happen.

Spencer is good guy and I'm sure He will serve the company well. You all know that Tom is the master builder and all of Mikes plans & designs will still be produced.

I have a meeting with Paul next week, and if anybody want to share anything with him feel free to ping me with it
and I can share it with him.

Just a heads up...I spoke Spencer in detail last night.
The transition is in hand, Paul is %100 working with the company to pass the torch.

Its all in good hands, and Tom is the master builder and has been with Mike for 28 years.
Half of you had your basses go through Tom not Mike.

In a couple of weeks please feel free to hit up your requests rto
