The Mike Lull Club Part 4

I've posted pics covering the rest of my Lull family in the past, these are the ones I've bought in the last year or so that haven't made it into a picture until now.

Mr. Lull worked on one of my basses. Spent time with me in his shop, showing me around and talking about basses. He is the guy who confirmed my suspicion that the placement of the split-coil in my PJ (ever so slightly closer to the neck) likely did change the tone compared to a regular P. That bass plays like buttah.

Very nice man. You could feel his kind spirit. RIP, Sir.

Absolutely stunning collection, so hard to pick a favourite :)
Is the gold one in your avatar your fave, or a tribute to Mike's P?

I'll say right up front that Mike's basses are wonderful, and I play all of mine.

Here's a cobbled-together group pic of my current faves, the gold P4 is the one I've owned longest, I bought it used on TB. The CAR P4 arrived within a few years after that, Mike built it to my specs after we talked about what I wanted, and he completely nailed everything. Those two are the very best P basses I've ever played in my life! The gold JJP4 was a custom order from Mike, and I liked it so much I ordered the ash one. The blue V4 and pink sparkle PT4 were picked up used here on TB, wonderful basses.

It just gets better with each photograph! The JJP4's are new to me but make absolute perfect sense. I have a PJ4 with a Jazz neck, but as Mike made the nicest 1 3/4 width necks I've played I'd love to own a P4 along the lines of your CAR & gold ones if/when I can.
Stunning & tasteful collection

I've always wanted a red bass, but I somehow end up with different colors. My favorite and long-time one and only go-to bass is a Sherwood Green Lull PJ4 (thank you Brad!). Not my favorite color, but I really connect with the feel and tone of that bass. And I have to admit that the color has grown on me. But all those red basses.... wow!

Funnily enough that is my fave colour, and I too mostly end up with a colour I'm not as into! Though my trans blue PJ4 is pretty cool.
Any photos of yours?

I just don't need 4 5ers anymore. :bored:
I have been playing them exclusively since 2000. I've been in a Classic Country band since 2008, but lead singer COPD has put an end to that. I bought a T5 when the Hard Rock band I left in 2005 asked me back. I played a 5er with them at that time. Sadly, time has impacted my ability to play with the speed I had then now (68 in May). Therefore, I'm putting out feelers with this club to see if anyone here has a 4 string Lull with Thunderbird pickups they would be interested in trading towards my T5.

In checking with Mike, this bass was a special order by Bass Central. I got it from Guitar Center online last year for $2,700. I could find no sign it had ever been played. It is absolutely mint. Includes hard shell case. Pm me with questions.
