Is that on a Mike Lull bass?
I saw a bridge like that on an Indonesian Peavey Cirrus a while back. Don't know what brand, Gotoh, maybe? Definitely a pain to adjust. I was cleaning and setting up this Cirrus for a friend and one of the inserts fell out and bounced to a cranny under my desk. I was afraid that it was lost forever in that Black Hole along with my iPod cables and Sharpie pens..... Fortunately, I found it 30 minutes later looking with a flashlight.
Get a Hipshot A style bridge. Or a B style, as I've seen some folks getting lately. Either will be an improvement.
Yeah, it's a 1998 M5 that I got about a month ago. It's a solid bridge, in fact I wouldn't even consider changing it if it wasn't for crazy intonation adjustment.
