Lull’s shop recently switched to a 4mm hex key truss rod nut instead of the screwdriver nut. The hex key adjustment is much better than the screwdriver, IMO.

We’ll said. I would love if all my basses could be retrofitted w hex key truss rod nuts. However, sometimes the old school requires the time that a proper setup demands. I’ll take off the pickguard if needed. Sometimes it’s a drag, but worth it when your bass plays like you imagine it should.

Just a heads up to you guys here....If you come across this add Mike Lull M4V Bass mid 2000's - Natural | Reverb Reverb for this M4v just know that the description is inaccurate. It's local so I went to check it out and although the description says it's in perfect working order the front pickup does not work and it was sort of hard to tell how well the other functions of the preamp were working. I don't know if it's the pickup or something wrong with the pre. I took the covers off and put new batteries in it and looked around at the wiring but did't see anything obvious. Otherwise it's a great bass in decent condition. Thought you all should know!

Thanks for the heads-up! I saw it earlier today on Reverb, and was interested. Maybe the seller should take it to Lull and have it looked over.

Reaching out for assistance again from the Lull Club…..

I’ve been searching over 2 years for a 34” scale Lull M5v (or passive V5), with alder-body with rosewood-fingerboard.

Only looking for that particular 'Jazz-style' Lull model - with a 34” scale, and must have the alder/rosewood combo.
I 'might' also consider a 35" scale alder/rosewood M5v.

If you have one you aren’t playing a lot and might consider selling – or if you know of, or see one for sale – please hit me up via PM.

Straight up sale - or I could offer some interesting trade bait (5 string Jazz-style basses, or various vintage or newer Fender J and P 4-strings).

Lull P4 owners, how would you describe the thickness of the neck? One reason I eventually sold my Lakland 44-60s was that I thought the neck was too thin front to back. If you’re familiar with the Fender Player series P or the G&L CLF 1K or the Fender AVRI ‘63 P and can compare the P4 to those, I’ll have a better idea.

My V4 has a P4 neck. Very comfortable.
I'd say it's rather slim. I have also an AVRI 62 P bass. And the Lull neck is somewhat close but feels a tad thinner probably due to its much flatter radius.
My 1982 wunkay had probably a bit chunkier neck than that of a P4. But not by a big margin.

Perhaps it would be better just to measure them and give you the exact figures. But unfortunately I don't have such an opportunity at the moment.

Thanks. The reason I’m asking is there is is one available at The Bass Shop in Seattle area. It’s up on the R site. Jeff did give me the measurements; it seems a bit slim.

I have a Lull P4 with 11/16” nut width and a Fender Player Series P bass. The Fender Player neck is slightly thicker, front to back, than the Lull.

Hey Gang,

So Im throwing this out here first to this group here before going public at the end of the week.

My gig situation and studio situation is changing. (For the better and can't really get into it...Yet)
As a result, I'm going to sell both my 35" scale Lull PJs 5s

I'm going to probably put them up formally next week. So if you looking I'm offering.

I’m considering putting back for sale my PJ5 Lull. I’m really looking for a 5 string jazz, ideally passive. Best case scenario would be to make a trade for a M5V!

I could consider lower value + $$$. And +1 if you’re not too far from Montreal. I would ideally prefer to not ship the bass and meet you! :)
