Just a heads up to you guys here....If you come across this add Mike Lull M4V Bass mid 2000's - Natural | Reverb Reverb for this M4v just know that the description is inaccurate. It's local so I went to check it out and although the description says it's in perfect working order the front pickup does not work and it was sort of hard to tell how well the other functions of the preamp were working. I don't know if it's the pickup or something wrong with the pre. I took the covers off and put new batteries in it and looked around at the wiring but did't see anything obvious. Otherwise it's a great bass in decent condition. Thought you all should know!
Out of curiosity, what setup is in it now?

In a slightly bizarre twist I ended up buying this bass right here in the TB classifieds a little over a week ago from a guy in Los Angeles. I didn't realize it was the same bass I had previously checked out up here in Washington state a few months back. It wasn't until I started comparing pics from both for sale adds that I realized it was the same bass. I got a little worried that it may still have the same issues as it did when I previously looked at it but I'm happy to report that it arrived in perfect working order. Beautiful bass with impeccable craftsmanship. Super light and comfortable. Love the neck finish and profile. As per TB rules, a pic or it didn't happen.View attachment 5082481
The shop finished up another bass for me recently, this one has really full tone - great low end and mids.

Have any of you played the newer Mike Lull hand-wound P4 pickup? I'm curious how it compares to the standard Fralin P pickup.
How would you describe the Lull hand-wound pickup compared to the Fralin? Is it darker, smoother, more aggressive, etc.?I agree, you can't go wrong with either pickup!
I've got a couple of Lulls with the handwound Lull P pickup and it sounds terrific. I love how the stock Fralin P sounds, but these are a little different and I love the tone. A good friend doesn't like the Fralins but the loves his Lull with the handwound P pickup.
