Not if the Lull shop doesn't ask for it. It would cost $45-50 to ship it back, then they'd have to ship him his bag back. It may not be worth messing with.
I already emailed them about it, so Paul knows and is the one who admitted it was a mistake, but didn't ask for it back. In fact he called it a happy accident. It definitely wouldn't be worth it for them since they'd be the ones footing the bill to get the case back and return my bag.
The only problem would be if you rather have the bag instead of the case. Hopefully they gave you the option.
In terms of practicality I'd rather have a bag. But if I needed to store it, the case. So it doesn't really matter. I don't gig and I have a bag I can use if I need one.
they have so many cases and bags there it definitely wouldnt be worth their time and money to take the case back!
Will be gigging the TC4 this weekend now that she is back from the Doc and firing on all cylinders.... caint wait!
If anyone has an extra Hipshot type-A 4-string bridge like the ones Mike uses laying around (black preferred), I'd be interested in taking it off your hands. Convo me.
What are flatwounds are you guys using on your P4's? I've tried GHS Precisions which I usually love, but I find pretty dull on mine and it killed my E string. I was getting softer notes all over the neck and it sounded unbalanced in itself. I then tried GHS Half Wounds which are a little better, but the E was so thumpy it almost sounded like a string from a different pack. I'm going to try GHS Brite Flats as I usually have good luck with those on other basses and possibly Chromes but I'm starting to wonder if flats just aren't my thing for this bass.
I actually have SIT Silencers on there right now and I'm really enjoying the change of pace, but I do miss the old school thump at times.

Sadowsky flats without a doubt!!! they are pretty bright and just feel wonderful!! the .100-40 set...I am usually a .105 player....but the .100 set of sadowsky flats are like magical! yeah I tried some labella flex flats and GHS and TIs on the P4 and the GHS and labellas were too dull....even the TIs which I like a lot were really good but I didnt like the feel on that bass......the sadowskys are perfect sound and feel to me!
you are right though those basses just sound better with a brighter flat.....I dont really like chromes though....even though I like almost every other daddario string.

Did you experience the E string problems that I did? I was almost wondering if a lighter set or at least a lighter E would make a difference or not. When I put the half rounds on I could even tell acoustically that the E was lower in volume and thumpier. At first I was scared that there was something weird with body resonance in the bass that was canceling out the string, but when I put on the SIT's the E came to life again.
All lulls kinda seem like the E is a bit dull....but really its more even and balanced....most Es are boomy and thats what you get used to....but once you get used to an even E string then you notice the boomy Es!!!
now that I think about it every string I tried was a lighter gauge on that bass! the flex flats were .100s the TIs were .100 and sadowskys are .100s......it comes with custom gauge .107 stainless prosteels....but I didnt even try the bass with them! maybe for 2 seconds! they came right off and I set it up for flats.
those GHS are really heavy strings....you might need to tighten the truss rod a tad to make the neck super straight.
I find on all my lulls I have had it really likes being totaly straight with like no relief.....sometimes even a quater of a turn more then straight! its just a nice spot where you can get the lowest action with it still sounding wonderful acoustically.

btw the even not boomy E strings is one of things you pay for when you pay an extra grand for a bass! that and the increible fretwork!
Well it sounds perfect with the SIT's. Perfect balance among the other strings and along itself. It's just with flats that I'm having a problem. Mike even adjusted it when he sent it back and it wasn't really to my liking with the GHS Precisions, so I put on the Half Rounds and the E was too thumpy. I don't know if maybe I'm just falling out of favor with flats or if I need to try something else. The Sadowsky's are expensive for me to experiment with. I'd be afraid that I'd put them on and have the same issues.
just a thought, have you tried putting the ghs flats on another bass to see if it's maybe an issue with the string itself and not the bass?
