Best foot bass for metal would look more like that Peavy slide guitar.
Serously, this sounds like a fun, and funny, build project. First I have to consult the tone-wood guys, and then I'll have to make sure I only play it on a floor made of that tone wood.
That dinky pickup looks really cool. With only two strings to cover there's no reason to wrap a rectangular bobbin. I'll be that core is something the inventor had on hand!
Bizarre.. Shouldn't Talkbass have a museum of sorts set up for stuff like this, the ashbory, kala ubass, crazy vintage stuff and the like? It'd be fun to look at weird bass related inventions throughout history, from the P-bass to fretless to 5 string to active to stuff like this and etc.. hehe
Hey guys, I own one of these foot basses and have played it out many times, it adds a lot to a solo artist who wants to keep it real. Sustain is off the chart, and it plays great with any flat bottom shoe. I have a copy of the patten for it also, Mike Miller lived in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, and gave out the few he had made to friends to stop wife from getting the rights to them in a divorce, so the story as told to me from his personal friend goes. Not many around for sure.
