No,but it sort of looks like a shoe.![]()
I use BEAD in my two doom metal bands (in one the guitars are tuned to B, and in the other the guitar is tuned to D but I can't be bothered to have another bass tuning setup) and EADG in the folk/rock band. How many of ya'll use BEAD ONLY. I recently whittled down my lineup to 4 warmoth fender copies....all BEAD. Any other setup just feels wrong to me now.
I did F# B E A D on my 5 string Ibanez BTB. I got rid of that bass in a trade, and currently am looking around for something else to tune to F# now. Honestly I am on the fence about whether to go with 4 or 5. I don't like playing 5 but I felt like i was almost missing a finger when I pretended I didn't have a D. The D is one of those strings that is almost a staple in all types of music. F# B E A works, but you'll find yourself just playing higher up on the neck at times, and also if you like to slap, you'll lose out on those cool pop plucks that you get with the D and G.I'm a BEAD-only player now and find that I rarely use the D string.
Has anyone here tried dropping down to F#BEA ?
