The most off key playing you ever heard?

I think wishbasses just sound like that... Here's another from the same youtube poster's (wishnevsky?) page- Another guy playing a wishbass at wishnevsky's places, a little less than intonated.

Maybe thats why they love the Wishbasses so much, since they can just bame their poor playing on the poorly made instrument!

I have a problem with someone saying off-key to describe something that is just bad, or horrendously out of tune. Most of the things shown here are just that, bad and out of tune, not out of key. Off key implies that its good just not in the right key, like that Van Halen video of jump (not sure if that one popped up yet). But stuff that isn't even right, isn't off key, its just wrong, and stuff that is horrendously out of tune isn't off key, its horrendously out of tune.

I was already feeling pretty good from the various 'just wrong' and 'horrendously out of tune' clips here, but I lost it completely when this video came up, before hearing a note. That bass is priceless.

I try to make it a habit not to badmouth anyone who tries something, even if they fail, but Ole Wish really shouldn't have let anyone film his little jam, never mind post it, if only for humanitarian reasons.

I know the mix isn't really doing him any favors... I'm sure a live mix would definately help. He's just so out front in this mix, can't really hide the off notes.

This stuff is great. I teach bass and I always try to break the dependency that some students have on electronic tuners and work on developing some sense of pitch. These are great examples of how bad wrong it can go.

That does kinda capture the blues though. I mean, if I played something like that and had it passed around the internet I'd probably feel pretty down about it... some of the comments are pretty funny.
