The NBA Playoffs Thread

I'm sorry, I didn't realise that you were the authority on who I can and can't like
I was pointing out your obvious inconsistency in not liking the Spurs because of some of the things they do, but overlooking Kobe's glaring faults on and off the court.
You never managed to address the fact that what I said is true. He's a scoring machine. He's an amazing player. He's fantastic to watch. He can read the game. He can and does carry the team to victory in tough games. You don't have to like him, but don't tell me who I can and can't like.
Duncan is an amazing player, too (with more titles), but you never mention that. And I did say that Kobe has been great in my last post.

My 'obvious inconsistency'? Give me break. You don't agree with what I think and that's all it is. I told you I don't like the Spurs because of the way they play, and that I do like the Lakers because of the way they play. I'm sorry it's so difficult for you to understand that, but it's really not my problem.

Your opinion, like mine, is not a fact.

Great game, I think the Billups injury is doing the Piston's in. That was the one match up going in where they had a big advantage. And while they've still had better guard play it hasn't been enough to make up the C's advantages at the three and the four. Also where did Kendrick Perkins come from? I thought the officiating was good although no three in this league with the exception of Lebron gets away with more pushing off on offense and grabbing on D then Pierce, but that's the superstar whistle not any conspiracy. I do wish Sheed had one playoff game where he got have the whistle Pierce gets. I've never seen a big man called for as many ticky-tac fouls as Sheed. I'd just like to see ONE playoff game where he's not in foul trouble. But I'm not blaming the officials for the game. If anything the C's got the worst of the calls tonight.

I'm plenty mature. Are you saying I'm not allowed to have an opinion?

Are you saying he's not allowed to have, and express, the opinion that you're immature?

I mean, there's no real evidence that you're immature (one comment in a stupid sports thread really isn't enough to make that judgement, but whatever- that's just my opinion), just like you have no real proof that Bryant's accuser was actually raped (she was, if you recall, presented with the opportunity to see her alleged assailant punished in some way that would be more significant than some cash payout, yet she opted not to seek "justice").

Almost anyone, however, can hit Google and find actual photographic and video evidence of [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] while they're laying on the floor, or [Invalid or Expired Link Removed], or of Bowen kneeing Nash in the groin, or of Bowen intentionally kicking Amare Stoudamire in the back of his ankle as Stoudamire goes up for a dunk, or of Bowen kicking Wally Szczerbiak in the face as Szczerbiak is going up for a jump shot, or of Bowen kicking Ray Allen in the back. It's real evidence of real dirty play, and I don't see how it's anything but indefensible.

Hey, keep your Kobe blinders on, have a blast. But when you express strong opinions on a message board, you're going to get challenged. Spare me the "you're not the boss of me" talk. Later.

Hey, I never wanted to talk to you about this in the first place. Your 'challenge' was a poorly masked attempt at telling me that I don't have the right to like a team/player because you don't agree with me.

I couldn't really care less any more. The Lakers are going to dispose of the Spurs and move on to the Finals... and the world will be a better place :D

Well said. The 'rapist' thing is a tired and desperate attempt to slag off a good player.

ZING!!!!!

Yeah it is... And I don't even LIKE him.

whoooo Go Celtics! Quite a game from KG, Ray Allen, and KP43 (his new nickname according to Van Gundy or one of them). I hope the Celtics can step it up again and take the series tomorrow in Detroit.

I can sort of see where you're coming from on that one, but he has such an abrasive attitude and a bad temper so I'd say he deserves most of the calls he gets. He got a technical last night for arguing a call that wasn't even against him. I think he just doesn't know when to shut his mouth really. Great player though and he had quite a game last night.
