"The neck is almost straight."

Hi Green Knight :)

almost straight

:D

Should I take this to mean it has the appropriate amount of relief or that it's bowed?

sorry! :sorry: I couldn' t resist!

I would stay away from that!

For me "almost straight" translates: Maxed out truss rod but still a slight bow. :(

Behold an excerpt:

Significant attention! What?
The neck is almost straight.
Fret is over 9 minutes.
It is unused after rubbing.

Your guess is as good as mine! Mind you, my Japanese is infinitely worse than this guy's English.
Is this on Craig's list? It almost sounds like a bot wrote it although it could have been run through a translator as well.

My impulse thought would be that he is referring to the relief and that most of it has been removed.

But the only way to know for sure is to ask seller for clarification. I'd bet the rod works and the amount of relief is adjustable. Again, let seller confirm, and get some kind of return policy (such as CC or PayPal) in case he misrepresents the bass.

FWIW, the "appropriate amount of relief" varies from player to player.

Hi everybody, I'm interested in an Aria Pro II Thor bass--it checks a lot of boxes for me--the description of which boasts the cryptic line, "The neck is almost straight." Should I take this to mean it has the appropriate amount of relief or that it's bowed? Sorry for the dumb question!
Ask the question to the seller with diagrams describing your question.?

edit: looks like its already been stated
