"The neck is almost straight."

I've bought the "neck is fine" option.

Well, good luck, my friend! :D

I've bought the "neck is fine" option. The seller of the other one did in fact get back to me at what must be some ungodly hour in Japan to say that item has sold! I guess someone was looking for a not-quite-straight neck.

If they are both in Japan it means the “neck is fine” guy went to the music store and bought it and shipped it to you and the other guy can’t go buy it now. :D:roflmao:

Hi everybody, I'm interested in an Aria Pro II Thor bass--it checks a lot of boxes for me--the description of which boasts the cryptic line, "The neck is almost straight." Should I take this to mean it has the appropriate amount of relief or that it's bowed? Sorry for the dumb question!
The neck on my Yamaha P34 is almost straight and plays like a dream. You don't want a neck that is perfectly straight.

If someone declares that they have a neck that is "almost straight," then they are likely covering their a** on the purchase. There are a lot of used basses out there. I'd move on.

There are 2 schools of thought on bass set up ...

1 - flat neck is best
2 - a slight front bow is best

almost straight sounds like #2
