The New, New Julie Slick Thread

Julie is playing a live solo set at 5:00 pm TODAY as part of the "Uncancelled Music Festival." Here's her Instagram announcement:

... which contains text from the official web site with information about how to purchase "tickets," etc.

Here's the actual site:

Stageit | A front row seat to a backstage experience.™

Hope to see you there!

Pretty sure your post above led to my vast enjoyment of seeing Julie and Adrian play in Chicago last night.

Guy next to me ( whom apparently is an author ) turned out to be a friend of AB’s and I got to meet the man briefly after the show.

Many thanks for that tip. Amazing show of course. Julie makes virtuosity look so easy! And in all these years I don’t think I ever saw Adrian play acoustic. From his new album. No slouch either :)

Thanks for posting -- that's great to hear!

I'm going to see them in a couple of weeks -- hopefully, twice.

Got to see the Power Trio in Ashland, VA last night. Small theater with a little 10-seat balcony on the wall, stage right, where my group had seats. The view and sound were good from there but.... It turns out that the doorway leading to the stairs to the balcony was right next to Julie, with only an average-width hallway between the door and the edge of the stage. Security had no complaints about me just standing there in the doorway so that's where I spent most of the show (staring at her right hand). Also, from that vantage point I could hear her Aggie stage rig rather than the PA, so I was able to soak in that gnarly/nasty growl that I love so much about her tone. Of course I couldn't hear Adrian as well from there, but a fan-boy's gotta do what a fan-boy's gotta do. Got to hang with her for about 15 minutes after the gig (and hit her up for a couple of picks), and also chatted briefly with Adrian and the drummer for a bit.

Now please excuse me while I go pile up my basses and gear in the back yard and have a bonfire.
