The new tc electronic BG500.

I am a little unclear why anyone would buy this over a RH450. A bit more power and TweeterTone? The option for a 15" driver?
At first glance and after watching most of the YouTube video, I am not sure this will be a big hit. IMO (and what do I know?) a RH600 or RH750 (600-750 watts) would be more desireable.
Also, the control panel looks old school.
Also, it is a lot heavier than my RH450 and RS210 together. 70lbs is a heavy little combo.

This amp makes little sense to me.
A-no extension speaker out? Really? Is there any other combo over 300 watts that doesnt have a speaker out?
B-Only will tune your bass if its tuned to B or E. I tune to C. Lots of Bassists tune to D.
C-Only 50 more watts than the RH450? 900 would be better or at least 650.
D-only 3 presets. If you are gonna give us presets why such a low number?
E-70lbs WITH a s Neo driver? The trend is towards lighter gear these days with most other manufacturers. Genz Benz Shuttle + neo cab comes to mind.
F-Tweetertone?
Look it up, its an Edsel.

Ummm...why do they mount their logo sideways? Why not horizontal at the top of the grill. Looks stupid the way it is.

Old school technology...and it's cheap (comparatively speaking). I'm sure it will sound great.

Err.....because it's half the price of the RH450!!! As has been said, a different market. We'll wait to hear what it sounds like. Looks great on paper. Until you see the picture of it!
I just posted this on TC ELectonics Facebook page, I see the same opinions here:
"I don't understand yet, where these ones place in the bass products range? Looks like they are stripped down versions of the other combos (tuner is not chromatic, not as visually appealing, heavier, no wheels and handle; there is tweeter control, but it is not actually something new, just presented in a new way). I assume the price should be ... Vaata veelconsiderably lower then as well? I think the 15" could have some new crowd looking at TC Electronics now, but the 2x10" puzzles me so far. I did not see a footswitch for swapping the presets mentioned?
Don't get me wrong here, I really like what TC Electronics has done to the bass amp market with so little time...I just don't get these ones yet

MSRP of $929 & $999. I can see a 15" option. I don't think it looks bad. 70lbs isn't light, but something has to give.
I have to agree makes no sense to me to only add 50 more watts, hey tc electronics if your listening, 500 @ 8 ohms, 700, 800 or 900 watts, with an ext. speaker @ 4 ohms and casters to roll it!!!! 70 lb. combo? hahaha. don't get me wrong I am a fan, I already own rh450, rs210, rs212, but come on more watts needed with an ext. speaker input.
Everybodies already saying how loud the Rh450's are, why wouldn't 500 be enough? How much does a RH450 and a RS210 weigh?
that's why i flip the logos on all my gear backward like an ambulance, so people can see what rig i'm playing thru as they speed away from the club with both hands over their ears
I am going to watch this closely. There is nothing I've read so far that has been a turn off, and I definitely prefer combos. A 70# killer? No problem.
There are already a lot of blogs and BS about it. Hopefully some honest reviews will be come forthcoming.
