I might just sleep through it! Thursday about 90 yards from my place a shoot out wen down between drug dealers and the police. I slept right through it. I guess only 5 or 6 rounds were fired and no one was hit. Five arrests. I was clueless. When I went to work about 3 hours after I woke up the police had the little shopping center closed down and were directing traffic away from it. I looked over on my scooter but thought there was just an accident and was too busy with getting started on my commute to care.

Later at work I called my wife and she filled me in. While on the phone the police came to our door wanting to know if she heard or saw anything. She had been at work so told them no, they asked about anyone else and she was able to tell them I slept through it all. Cold have been shot in my head while I slept.

Makes me want to slap some steel plate around the bed :)

I couldn't figure it out either. At first I thought that some crimes occurred near his house and the police responded......therefore the next civil war is happening. Upon further investigation, it sounds like he means that he slept through the sound of gunshots, and thus would also sleep through the possibly impending civil war.
This isn't the title I'd choose for a thread about how I'm a heavy sleeper, but different strokes for different folks.

/non-sarcasm. Indeed. Use your right to bare arms... but first move to a better place on the planet. Do both if you can afford it. Of course if you can sleep through gunfire, you likely wont wake up to the sound of a break-in so... In YOUR case, I'd move first.

You guys are way over thinking this. The "civil war" reference was an (oddly-worded) volume reference.

In other words.....

"A war could break out and I would sleep right through it."


.....simply means......

"Clearly, I sleep so hard that something really loud, like gunfire, can occur right outside my window and I sleep right through it."

You make a thread about how you're a heavy sleeper and give it a title that refers to a possible repeat of one of the most tragic events in recorded history, and then command that no one comment on that title as if
1) it's a perfectly reasonable thread title about sleeping through loud noises and
2) you have some kind of authority over what people say.

Is that about right?
