The next 'scary' genre

I don't know what the next scary genre of music would be, but I'm hoping that the boy band craze will not make a comeback. that would be a musical nightmare because a band of sissies who look and dress up like douchebags, Ironically claim to be bad boys but sing like wusses, and make bad music would raise a new generation of garbage. I mean we already had enough trouble with talentless losers like justin bieber and rebecca black. do we really need more of this crap? what the world really needs is better musicians. someone who can write much better music than the crap that's been going on today.

Im sorry to break this news to you but the music business has never been about making good music. It is about making money and Justin Bieber and Back Street Boys makes people open thier wallets. Its sad but that is the truth

I'm well aware of the sad truth of the music business. and I do know that the music industry created these so called boy bands so that they make a lot of money. it's very common that the music industry makes money by having commercial acts on their recording labels. but that's mainstream music for you. despite how much fortune and fame they make, they will always be brutally critiqued by real music lovers for how terrible they really are. plus these kinds of acts are more suitable for a younger audience. an older crowd would know what real music is. and that's why they keep away from the mainstream. because they know where to find real music.

I doubt it's possible right now, at least not in the way it happened in the seventies.
When Black Sabbath were accused of being satanistic and hiding messages within their songs (the old 'play the LP backwards' myth), there was a huge difference between the recieving community's set of mind of back then and now.
If you want satanic lyrics nowadays you just google for a few moments or ask amazon.
Same with violent, pornographic, racist ... whatever taboo you want broken i'm pretty sure it's been done and recorded.

I don,t see new genre of music to instill fear ... since 2000 we got a lot of dumb music and many new laughable "genre" like EMO ...

Many rapper are now stupid douche just about the money they aren't gansta anymore.

So I think very old genre like Death Metal and technical death metal are still feared music not only because of the lyrics, much more because of the extrem of the music, all the techniques used etc. In the same vein, try listening to dodecaphonism and serialism it is kinda something too but very few people are aware of those genre in the classical world.
