Can't disagree. Really wishing McDonagh scored that similar shot off the faceoff right about... darn posts (payback from Game 1 perhaps?)
McDonagh made an amazing devensive play on that delayed penalty breakway. I think it was Chimera maybe he stole the puck from? Amazing.

A lot of guys would have probably hooked the skater instead of getting the puck as delicately as McDonagh did.

Yeah, that was Chimera, and it was a stellar defensive play. The Caps have been looking forward to getting past Chara and Seidenberg, but the Rangers defense is presenting a very different problem, though an equally difficult one.

Yeah, the Caps shooting would have been nearly perfect in Game 1, if only the target was the iron behind Lundqvist. This time, it was the Caps getting the lucky breaks.
No worse than hearing the Rangers fans yell "1... 2... 3... [somebody, usually Holtby] sucks!" Caps fans spend a lot more time cheering their team and a lot less time kidding ourselves into thinking we can intimidate a pro hockey player by telling him he sucks...
...and if you really want to hear something annoying, you should stand next to my wife while she's slinging her cowbell around... Caps logo be damned, I hate that frickin' thing...

Brodeur held the Flyers to 4...they had far more quality chances & coulda/shoulda had 6-7.
I did not see many Flyers' games in March. Bryz was a wall during that stretch. If he gets that back...they're unstoppable.
Watching the Kings in their defensive zone, I find myself watching Quick more than the actual puck. He is just so entertaining to watch. He has some unreal cat-like reflexes and athletic ability.
They held a Flyers prep rally at lunchtime yesterday in the building where I work.They were throwing t-shirts into the crowd, and I got one, but ended up giving it to a pregnant woman who was standing nearby. I think I may go out at lunch and buy a new Flyers hat.

JQ is outstanding, but a lot of credit also needs to go to the Kings' defense. They aren't giving up many quality chances from rebounds.
That short-handed goal by Kopitar in the first period was just sick. He's a great puck-handler, no doubt, but that move he made on Elliott was a thing of beauty. It looked like he was completely off his feet when he made his final shot.
The Kings seem to be able to adapt their game to whatever is needed. In the series against Vancouver, there weren't a lot of penalties, and it was all about great passing and speed. The Blues play a much more physical game, and the Kings had no problem going toe-to-toe with them last night.

Anyone see the play where the puck sat on the red line for 3+ seconds before Quick was finally able to put his glove on it? Seemed like slow motion. Don't see plays like that happen too often. Usually it's smacked out quickly or accidentally kicked in by the goalie.

It has nothing to do with any Philly slant. I'd be saying the same thing if it was Pittsburgh, or any other teams left in the playoffs. It just caught my attention on Saturday when listening to the WIP broadcast and those guys were complaining about it too.

That was a nervous moment, for sure. It looked like Matt Greene helped Johnny-Q get that thing smothered finally. The Kings were getting favorable bounces and deflections all night, and that was just one of those moments.
