Ok, just a few things. Don't get a new hat now. Dont change anything. lol. And yes the Penguins fans are going to rag on everything the flyers do, it's thier job. The funny thing is the whole "I'm unbiased" thing. And what else is there for them to do.

Two other things I have to bring up. I was surprised and not very happy that matt read was not up for rookie of the year. But now the Nhl is not going to put Hartnell up for the foundation player award. His charity hartnelldown raised more money then two of these other players and he cuts his hair off for locks of love. Kinda bs if you ask me. But im just a flyers fan. lol.

Also regarding the Staal rumors, I love Jordan and would like to see him stay a Penguin. But he is hitting his prime and will want to be the #1 center on whatever team he's on and I can't blame him for that. Resigning him after next year may prove to be very difficult. I would definitely take Yakupov for Staal.

However, that really does nothing to address the issues we had which caused us to lose to the Flyers in the playoffs. Granted they had a great regular season and Pens v Flyers were two great teams and someone HAS to lose, but trading a forward for a forward doesn't do much to plug in the holes we had in D. However we have lots of good young prospects, so maybe Shero is counting on Strait and Despres to be solid full timers soon.

Seriously....I have nothing against the Flyers. I like a few of the players, and a few I don't. But hey, we're all like that with other teams and our own. If you guys think I have a problem with it, you should have heard the announcers on the Flyers broadcast.

Hartnell is one of those guys that you hate to play against but you love him if he is on your team. I don't really see him as the agitator he once was,...but he makes up for it in Net Front Presence on the PP and creating time and space for the other forwards in the Offensive Zone. His physical presence is more focused as is his smarts are much improved (no more throwing equipment at opposing players on breakaways). His passing and skating ability leave a little to be desired though.

It's funny that opposing players still target him cause of his history of agitation (Craig Adams?). I think they are counting on him to take a dumb penalty. Maybe he is still an agitator,...he is just more subversive and effective with it.

I think the League snubbed Matt Read cause of his age. Sort of a "we can't give the Calder to a 25 year old.

What about Coots?,....I think his contributions don't show on the stat sheet and while I don't really know much about the rookies that are up for the Calder; nor do I know how they judge the rookie of the year (goals? points?). If the league judges the award consideration on on ice contributions and positive impact to the team the rookie plays for,...then Coots most assuredly deserves a nomination.

I can agree with this comment, and the one about the NFL. :)

As for other players trying to bait him, it must work to some degree or guys would stop doing it. Cooke was the target of that more than a few times this year. He displayed some amazing restraint and so has Hartnell.

Of all of the award nominations, the one that is the biggest head-scratcher is that Paul Holmgren wasn't among the finalists for GM of the year.

Cooke has made some serious strides in his game and with controlling his temper this year. I've been very impressed with the guy. If the NHL hands out a league wide most improved player,...Cooke deserves it for evolving his game. He can come play for the Flyers anytime (not that I'm the one that makes those calls).

I've said it before and I'll say it again,....there is only one Trophy/Award in all of Sports that matters.

I went to that pawn shop too, but the line to get in was around the building. Someone said they were filming since employees were coming out to the line and hand picking people to come in to offer their item for sale/pawn.

I went back to my room. I tried walking around the hotel, Mandalay Bay, but it was too much for me, so I went back to my room at the Four Seasons and went to sleep. Too many hookers, skanks, drunks, and old people. Got up for the conference I went to, went back to sleep, then flew home. The smoking ruined it for me too. Blah.

It's probably better than I experienced, but I was alone and I don't gamble, smoke, or drink heavily. If I ever go back, I'd like to go enjoy the outdoors.

That's the only appeal I can see,....go to Vegas,....hit big while gambling,....get a 10k a night hooker,...score some blow. Don't tell anybody (what happens in Vegas....).

I'll just stay here and pay my debts off and get laid the old fashion way.
