The Official 2012 NHL Stanely Cup Finals Thread: Part II

I think Quick played better in the previous rounds.

 How much better do you need him to be? He's allowed only 2 sloppy deflections into his net in 3 games! An argument maybe can be made that the Devils haven't pushed Quick to make any truly acrobatic saves, but they've had a lot of good opportunities that he's shout down (granted, NJ has miss-fired on big chances a couple of times). From what I've seen he's every bit as solid as he's been the whole Playoffs (and whole season, really). The point blank glove save from his belly last night was pretty damn strong.

Last night, the Kings played their style of hockey from the first puck drop - something they didn't do as well in NJ - and it crushed the Devils. If they're going to beat the Kings even once, the Devils are going to need to make some major adjustments.

I thought showing a little mercy (tight defense, kill the clock, no forward pressure) after going up 4-0 was a classy decision by Daryl Sutter.

Sutter is a genius. I like the hustle; I like the hard work for the puck, all the little things the Kings are doing--keeping their sticks down, poke checks, locking the boards down. Some good checks last night too. Again. There was a beautiful one by the Devils in the 3rd that upended a King--don't remember by whom.
Did my previous post even make sense? I was drunk.
Go Kings!

Yes Quick has been outstanding since the fight for the #8 spot.

Jeff.....I think our NHL season is over Wednesday. :(

Yeah, I'm afraid you're right. The Kings HAVE allowed a couple teams to win one stinkin' game after taking a 3-0 lead, but then they rapidly slam the door on them.

But I think they'll be so driven to finish it off on Wednesday that they'll be like a bunch of sharks with chum in the water...
