I have less problem with the Preds. They seem to be develping a decent fan base. I've been to Nashville on business for several years during the playoffs and hear enough talk to know there is at least some fan base.

Phoenix OTOH, has a team that is for sale that no one wants to buy, in a town that never sells out regualer season games except when the Wings come to town and all the MI retirees show up. :D

Florida is even worse, there is zero hockey fan base there. If they won the cup, I bet they'd still have more fans showing up at Marlins games.

I remember when Tampa Bay won the cup, a year later they weren't having enough fans show up to come close to filling their arena. That was the worse cup winner of the parity era.

What a gong show. Way to go refs.... Prove my point everytime.
For sure it was a good goal... they had 4 diferent angles showing he missed the puck... Lundqvist knocked it in.
If the refs would have called no goal..they would need bodyguards to leave the arena.

What a load of crap when the refs determine the game. Those 2 goals on the two man PP were a gift from the refs. BS

Come on Sens. The one team as a flyers fan I want out of the playoffs are the rangers. They have had our number all year. I would really like to see them and the bruins out. The rest of the east I feel the flyers can beat.

kicking motion, too difficult to tell if he touched it or not. to me, it looked like he scraped the puck with the blade.

This raises a rule question i've had for a while. You can't kick the puck in the net; you can't kick the puck into the goalie and have it bounce in the net; in short, you can't initiate a goal with a distinct kicking motion. BUT, players kick the puck to their own stick all the time- where's the line when a puck is kicked to a stick blade and into the goal? Is it a goal if the player makes a new motion(shot) with his stick?

It's hard to tell from the video. The puck did look like it spead up, he might have got it with the bottom of the blade to the top of the puck. But it was called a goal on ice right. So there wasn't video proof to call it a none goal. But why was henry complaining so much, they won. Period.

I agree, now you know how Wings fans felt two years ago when the Stripes handed the San Jose floppers the series with PP upon PP. The officiating in this league can really suck sometimes.

How is it buying a cup? They didn't spend money unwisely so they have cap space. I'll bet Chicago wishes they didn't sign Crawford for 6 mil plus a year as they are being eliminated today. :D

Once again, I think there were terrible calls on both sides. That has pretty much been the whole playoffs for every team. You can't think Rupp's roughing call was legit. Foligno wasn't really interfering the time he got called, but he was driving hard to the net... doesn't help that he tripped up Lundqvist prior to that with no call.

I wouldn't really call one hit that went a little high headhunting, but to each their own. Honestly, he probably deserves it anyway. The guy is a dirtbag... listen to his post-game comments about MDZ claiming, "I'm sure I'll catch him with his head down one of these times." He goes out there with intent to harm players and there's no excuse for that. Neil immediately went after Hagelin tonight in the first period. He also went after Richards, completely away from the play at one point in retaliation for a hit on Karlsson.

Also, I think Hank is just a fierce competitor and that is why he was upset about the goal. He definitely had one of the best views of it and must have felt strongly about what he saw because he almost never speaks out like that. Either way, it didn't matter in the end and it must not have been conclusive enough. They didn't even show the netcam on the MSG broadcast, which I found odd. I figured that would have had the best view.

It is good goal if the puck makes contact with the blade of the stick before it crosses the goal line. To my knowledge at least.

The goal is disallowed if the puck is played with a high stick (makes contact with the stick above the cross bar). Is kicked in or is batted or punched in with the players hands.

I was always under the impression that of you kick the puck and the goalie knocks it across the goal line, it's a good goal. I've never actually seen that happen though.

I saw one a few weeks ago where the goalie poke-checked the puck into a player's skate and it ended up in the net somehow. It looked a lot like a kicking motion until I saw the slow-moe where the goalie had actually got a piece of it before it hit the players skate and went in. I think that one remained a good goal after the review.
